Procedures

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Third Molar teeth generally erupt in late teens – early twenties which has been referred by some as the age of wisdom… hence the name Wisdom Teeth.

Teeth Extractions

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts screwed into the jaw bone with a crown placed on the post to replace a missing tooth or teeth.

Orthognathic Surgery

Surgery performed on the jaws to put them into correct occlusion (bite position), usually carried out in conjunction with an Orthodontist. Benefits include improvement in chewing, speaking, possibly breathing (Obstructive Sleep Apnoea) and sometimes the facial appearance.

TMJ

TMJ is short for temporomandibular joint, which is where the lower jaw attaches to the base of the skull on each side of the head, just in front of the ears.

Facial Fractures

Fracture or break of any facial bones, sometimes involving other trauma such as burns, cuts to the soft tissue or injuries to the eyes.

Dentoalveolar Surgery

Term used to describe any surgery to the teeth, jaw bones or soft tissues, such as extractions, apical surgery, removal of cysts, surgery to assist orthodontic treatment or a frenectomy.

Oral Pathology – Lesions, cysts

Any abnormal bony or soft tissue lesion or swelling, including salivary glands. Some diagnoses are possible by physical examination but other conditions may require further investigations such as x-rays and biopsies sent to Pathologists.
